Talkback Tuesday: Share Your Website or Blog

Tuesday is "Talkback" day, where I share what other people have to say

Lately, we've been getting lots of great comments and feedback from readers. You are full of good ideas and I am always interested to learn more about who you are.

Many of you already know that when you post a comment, there is a way for other readers to click your name and read more about you. However, not everyone reads all the comments, especially those on older posts.

Today I'd like to make the links between you and your websites more accessible to everyone else. Below, you should see a place to enter your name and website. This could be your own blog, a link to your resume, or any other place on the web where we can get to know you better. It doesn't necessarily have to be about RVing or bus conversions, just about you.

If you've been using the links available in the comments, please re-submit them below so they will be stored all in one place. If you have more than one website or blog, that's great, too. (Froggi Donna, I'm talking to you.) If you don't have a website, I hope you'll enjoy reading others'.

To get the ball rolling, I've put in our non-blog website. I promise to visit every single page submitted below, so thank you for participating!

(Edited to add: The box below to enter your website was generated by "Mr. Linky." They produce add-on scripts for websites. After you submit your URL, the script automatically asks you to submit a comment, but that isn't necessary here.)

  12. Hi Sean and Louise,
As a lot of others out "here", we also have been enjoying your blog. My wife (Louise) and I were talking about you this morning...we have dry camped a number of times and really enjoyed it and now we are determined to do more. That's how you names came up. Keep up the great site, stay safe and healthy and keep enjoying your travels.

  13. @Joel and Louise: I wanted to leave a comment on your blog, but it doesn't seem to be set up for that. Your photos are really wonderful, capturing the changing colors of the west in a way that my dinky camera doesn't. Makes me want to head out to the Badlands right now.

    Thanks for dropping by!

  14. @Goletaed: Another great photographer! You guys are making me ashamed of my meager shutterbug skills. Ed, the Yosemite pictures are really spectacular.

We enjoyed meeting you two in person in Houston last fall. Stay safe in your travels.

  22. Figured I ought to have an updated blog before I posted.

Former full timer in a 27' 5th wheel, and as such, I still hear the 'wild geese' calling to me every so often. Thankfully I'm also a bus nut, and found your blog , going way back to 'o6 at least. (things get a little fuzzy in the wayback machine section of my memory)

In addition to my woodshop project blog, I have a 'neat stuff I see while at work' blog

  26. Thanks for the invitation to share in your adventure!

Excellent sites such as your own allow those of us who can't presently travel (at all, or just not much) to enjoy a vicarious adventure.

  29. I enjoy your travels very much and really miss the posts when the red cross work has you otherwise occupied.
The train flat car posts and video thru the copper canyon is some of the best travel blogging I have ever read. I understand that has been discontinued due to saftey.
Keep up the good blogs, as we are hooked, LoL

  33. I love your blog! Great information and tech tips. I really like the info on boondocking. Can't wait until we make it to the southwest states.

With all your experience, do you have any opinions on cellular amplifiers for use in an RV? We camp in northern Minnesota and getting a signal can be tough at times. I'm looking at units that are advertised for marine and RV use that amplify to 3 watts. Your thoughts??

    ReplyDelete
  34. @Mike,

We don't use an amplifier ourselves.

More important than the amplifier itself are two factors: the quality (and location) of the outdoor antenna, and the separation of the outdoor and indoor antennas to minimize signal interference.

Selecting a directional antenna (higher gain) and being able to aim it in the proper direction will probably deliver the best result, but aiming a directional antenna without proper signal meters is difficult. You are probably best off with a high-gain omnidirectional antenna mounted as close to the center of the rig as possible.

Wilson, among others, makes the amplifiers, and I haven't heard anything negative about them. Many folks favor antennas made by Digital Antenna.
