I've driven it both ways numerous times in GMCs and MCIs, never a problem. BTW, the 40' GMC has a three-foot longer wheelbase than the MCI, still not a problem.

There are a few corners where you have to take your half out of the middle, but just watch for traffic and stop if you have to until things clear. Forget any honking horns behind you - they're not paying your insurance bill!

Also, watch out for the stick 'n staple motorhomes - they often have no clue how big their coach is. I saw one coming on this road and stopped - he proceeded to rip open the side of his rig on my LH mirror arm, then claimed I hit him. He backed off when I informed him I had 44 witnesses who'd testify I was stopped and he hit me. Moral: Pay attention and you'll be fine.RJ Longhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/11993105351398170671noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6208406.post-72215442833049536032012-04-30T04:15:28.087-04:002012-04-30T04:15:28.087-04:00Yes, we leave the crock pot plugged in and running...Yes, we leave the crock pot plugged in and running while we drive. It sits in the bottom of the kitchen sink, so that it can not fall off the counter and any spills are easy to clean.

Our wheelbase is effectively around 18', since the tag axle swivels. I believe the wheelbase on an MC-9 is 23'9".Seanhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/17930398671280529448noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6208406.post-12094674928834638852012-04-29T18:21:27.949-04:002012-04-29T18:21:27.949-04:00Hi Sean and Louise, I hope Wendy and I are wending...Hi Sean and Louise, I hope Wendy and I are wending our way up 101 sometime next year! It sounds quite spectacular. I wanted to ask you if you leave your crock pot plugged in running off the inverter while you are driving? I assume you do since you can bridge to the alternator, but thought I would ask anyway. Also, you've mentioned a couple of times the shorter wheel base of the Neoplan has helped you in the twisties, what is your wheel base and how does it compare to our MC9 for those mountain switchbacks

Thanks for the blog it is priceless.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.com
