The great affair, the love affair with life,
is to live as variously as possible,
to groom one's curiosity like a high-spirited thoroughbred,
climb aboard, and gallop over the thick, sun-struck hills every day.
Where there is no risk, the emotional terrain is flat and unyielding,
and, despite all its dimensions, valleys, pinnacles, and detours,
life will seem to have none of its magnificent geography, only a length.
It began in mystery, and it will end in mystery,
but what a savage and beautiful country lies in between.
Hi Sean & Louise,
ReplyDeleteI really like the music you play on the videos.. Have been checking out Seventeen Evergreen and Global Brakish. Very interesting stuff ! How about a post on some of your favorite stuff. I'm finally trying to rise above rock & roll and dont really know where to turn. Thanks....Kelly
@Kelly: I'm glad you like the music. I wrote about how I choose it in an old post, here:

I don't usually select music that we listen to regularly because most of our favorites are copyrighted. I feel strongly that the video music should be royalty-free.
When we want some road tunes, we choose rock & roll, like you!
Beautiful poetry....suits my mood today. Think I will have to post it for my readers...thank you for posting it!
